Mouth Lacerations, Broken Teeth Cause Massive Cuisinart Recall

Cuisinart is recalling 8 million food processors because the riveted metal slicing blade can crack off into food.

According to the Today Show, 30 cases of mouth lacerations and broken teeth have been reported. And according to the Huffington Post, 69 people have reported finding broken bits of blade in their food.

You can easily identify if your Cuisinart is defective: Look for the four rivets on the blade. If you see riveted blades on your Cuisinart, don’t use it! Cuisinart will supply you with a new blade for free.

In all, the recall covers 22 Cuisinart models sold between 1996 and 2015. You can also check the model number on your Cusinart, located on the bottom of the food processor. Model numbers that begin with these numbers have the recalled blades: CFP-9, CFP-11, DFP-7, DFP-11, DFP-14, DLC-5, DLC-7, DLC-8, DLC-10, DLC-XP, DLC-2007, DLC-2009, DLC-2011, DLC-2014, DLC-3011, DLC-3014, EV-7, EV-10, EV-11, EV-14, KFP-7 and MP-14.
