If you bought Sabra brand hummus recently, it’s time to toss it out!

Sabra Dipping Company announced a massive recall of hummus products due to fears of listeria contamination. The company’s recall alert acknowledges that Listeria monocytogenes was discovered at the manufacturing site, although listeria was not found in any hummus product distributed to retailers. Sabra announced the recall as a precaution, noting in the alert announcement that they were issuing the recall “out of an abundance of caution.”

Sabra recommends pitching hummus with a “best buy” date of January 23, 2017 and before.

Several Sabra brands are NOT affected by the recall: Sabra Organic Hummus is safe, as are Sabra Salsa, Sabra Guacamole, and Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips.

For anyone tossing hummus, Sabra is offering replacement coupons.

And in the meantime, if you need a hummus fix, it’s super easy to make delicious, healthy hummus at home. Explore our collection Hummus Recipes.
